Akron Police Continue Investigation of Road Rage Incident

The Akron Police Department is currently investigating a road rage shooting.

According to an Akron police report, a vehicle with two people inside was driving along Kenmore Boulevard Saturday around 3:15 p.m. when they got involved in a road rage incident with another driver. Both vehicles pulled over at Waterloo Road near Cory Avenue where a verbal altercation began.

The suspect fired four shots into the victims' car, striking a 20-year-old woman in the shoulder. The second victim in the vehicle, a 23-year-old man, was not injured during the shooting.

Following the shots being fired, the suspect fled the scene.

All too often someone gets behind the wheel of a car and loses control when they feel like they have been wronged. People do things that they would not normally do when they feel secure inside their own vehicles. There have been countless incidents where someone is either killed or seriously injured when a person is out of control and operating a motor vehicle. It is important to remain calm and do not allow your anger to overpower your better judgment.
