Three Injured in Interstate 71 Crash

Thursday, July 28, five-vehicle crash on Interstate 71 near Mason, Ohio, rolled an SUV onto its side and shut down traffic in the northbound lanes for more than an hour.
Occurring at approximately 10:20 a.m., the crash transpired when a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Elise Tappan, 19, made an illegal lane change while entering the southbound lanes on I-71 from the Kings Mills Road exit, causing another vehicle to swerve into the far left lane. The second vehicle then swerved into the path of a 2008 Volkswagen sport-utility vehicle, causing it to drive into the median.
Three individuals were injured in the crash and taken to Bethesda North Hospital via ambulance. All three lanes of northbound traffic were shut down for more than an hour as emergency crews responded to the scene
